Making a meal with much savory spices while trying to feed children can be tricky, so I found a way to make my finicky sharks happy, but feed my husband and myself the delicious goodness of Indian food. And there was not much extra work involved. You really only need one extra bowl and a couple more ingredients.

Baked Indian Chicken Drumsticks
1 cup nonfat plain yogurt
1 Tb garam masala
1/2 Tb cardamom
1 tsp coriander
1/4 tsp chili powder
1 clove garlic, pressed
salt and pepper
1 T coconut milk
8 chicken drumsticks
cooking spray
Whisk all ingredients together and thoroughly coat 8 chicken drumsticks with marinade. Marinate 30 minutes to overnight.

Family Style Baked Chicken Drumsticks
1/3 cup plain yogurt
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 Tb Parmesan cheese
1 tsp tarragon
1 tsp poultry seasoning
salt and pepper
4 chicken drumsticks
cooking spray
Whisk all ingredients together and thoroughly coat 4 chicken drumsticks with marinade. Marinate 30 minutes to overnight.
Spray cooking sheet or baking pan with cooking spray and lay out chicken evenly apart.
Bake in a preheated 425F oven for 45-60 min, turning after 30 minutes, until browned and no longer pink in the center.
This chicken was a big hit with the family. The boys really liked the simple family style chicken and my husband and myself really enjoyed the vibrant spices in the Indian chicken.
The sweet potatoes added a nice hearty sweetness to the meal with the steamed white rice holding all together nicely.
